Stop work action!

The next step is to ramp up your protected industrial action with a stop work event as previously agreed by the majority of members.

This is scheduled Tuesday 9 March from 1.15pm for half an hour with a return to work at 1.45pm, and we’ll gather on the pick-up ramp at 1.20pm.

If you’re on a day off, please stop work to show solidarity, if you’re at work inform your manager/supervisor when you start your shift that you’ll be stopping work at 1.15pm for 30 minutes.

You don’t need a discussion about Healthscope’s ability to release you, it’s your industrial right to stop work and undertake protected industrial action, but they probably won’t pay you for the 30 minutes.

There’s clearly no intent to jeopardise patient safety, and it’s up to Healthscope to arrange additional staffing to ensure there no adverse effects on patient care as we gave them 6 days’ notice of this action.

This is a very important step in the process, and we ask all HACSU nurse members to participate.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
