All HACSU members can take part in the stop work action on Thursday 25 March.

The next step in your campaign for patient safety is to ramp up your protected industrial action with a stop work action.

You can stop work from 8.15am on Thursday 25 March with return to work at 9.45am.

All HACSU members are authorised to take the stop work action. It is fully lawful.

We will start a walk up on Collins St to Harrington St, then up Liverpool St to the Unions Tasmania office. We’ll gather there, and then march back down Liverpool St to HPH.

We’ll have banners with your slogans, loud chanting and signs that encourage motorists to honk in support. Some members will be handing out flyers to the public and we want to encourage you to have conversations with the public along the way.

Again, you are protected to take part in this stop of work. We do understand this can be daunting, so please feel free to chat with us or your union delegates if you have any question or concerns about taking this action.

We have given Healthscope five days notice to cover the shifts. The onus is on Healthscope (not you) to manage the unit when you stop work.

Remember you are fighting for your patients’ safety by taking this action. We need everyone on board to make change happen.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
