They simply haven’t listened

You may have had a phone call from us asking you for your feedback on the new offer - the result of compiling that info is that 90% of you do not support the new offer.

The main concern was that there has not been any commitment to fixing the workload issues that you have been asking Healthscope to fix since the beginning of the bargaining.

Employing AINs is a great start but making no commitments about how many is fully disturbing, we are hearing a maximum of 1 AIN for the whole hospital at a time without specific shift commitments; this is also combined with strong rumours of reducing medical orderly hours because they have an AIN to use instead.

The member feedback was also clear that you are affronted that they are happy to bribe you into voting yes by way of a one-off payment, but they forgot to clearly explain to you that it will be significantly reduced if you are not fulltime, it’s a pre-tax payment and you won’t get that money until the EBA is voted up and passed by the Fair Work Commission. At this point the EBA would not start until March at the earliest. And one would think if they were flush with money how about putting it towards more staff in a committed way.

So, we think it is likely that Healthscope will put this to a vote, and we will be encouraging you to vote NO if this offer goes out; because you have clearly told us that an agreement without a proper workload solution isn’t worth having.
