Next pay brings new pay rates. All classifications except ECP and Interns will receive between 4 and 5% as the last payment from the Work Value Case where the TIC awarded up to a 14.1% increase in 2014.

Next pay brings new pay rates. All classifications except ECP and Interns will receive between 4 and 5% as the last payment from the Work Value Case where the TIC awarded up to a 14.1% increase in 2014.

HACSU took on the Work Value claim and stood up to the Government when they appealed the decision of the Full Bench of the TIC. They disputed the findings of the independent umpire.

Members are congratulated for standing up and having the fight that needed to be had. This adjustment is the final installment of the Work Value resolution process that we agreed to in 2015.

The full increase has already flowed to ECP and the Intern classifications.

You will also note that the next “2% Agreement” pay rise will commence on Monday, 4 December; this will apply to all classifications and is the final payment due under the 2016 Industrial Agreement.

This leads us into the next round of bargaining. We will be establishing a bargaining team who will be responsible for:

  • Conducting meetings with members
  • Compiling the Log of Claims
  • Negotiating at the bargaining table
  • Construct updates for members
  • Answering questions as they arise
  • Being a general conduit between the negotiations and the Members.

If you would like to be included in the bargaining team please email Chris Kennedy, at chris.kennedy@hacsutas.net.au.

It is envisaged that we will conduct some training in the bargaining processes with this team before meeting with the government.

Also please note that Sub-Branch members pay 1% of their composite in union dues, some members have been automatically adjusted by payroll others have not, those on Direct Debit are mostly behind in the calculations.

HACSU is currently working with your Sub-Branch Executive about introducing a more transparent and consistent Membership dues process.

Although some fees may increase (in line with your pay rises), they will not exceed the 1% which is the current rate; consultation will take place before any changes are made.
