Nurses & Midwives Sub-Branch Executive

The HACSU Nurses and Midwives Sub-Branch finally held it’s AGM in Ross last week after delays caused by the pandemic, and the executive was elected from the nominations that occurred earlier in the year.
 
President: Christine Hansson, Hobart Private Hospital
Vice President: Leanne Cowen, THS Mental Health
Junior Vice President: Royan Coutts, THS Mental Health, CATT North West
Secretary: Shalee Richardson, THS Wilfred Lopes
Executive Members: Judy Richmond, THS Mersey Community Hospital. Alison McKenzie, THS Mersey Community Hospital Theatre. Luis De Valle, THS Northside and Calvary
 
The 2021 meeting dates will be provided in coming weeks. There are some casual vacancies available, so if you’re an interested nurse or midwife please let us know.
 
The main duties of an executive member are to: 

  • Act as a representative for nurses and midwives
  • Channel information to and from union officials, organisers and delegates
  • Participate in discussions & negotiations on issues of concern to your profession
  • Attend Sub-Branch Executive meetings - 4 per year, plus teleconferences when required
  • Take part in planning and implementation of Sub-Branch activities such as campaigns and broader representation of the wider workforce.
