It's disappointing but not surprising

In our last update we told you the only word Calvary used in responding to your claims for your new agreement was “No”. They’ve finally handed down an offer and while not surprising, it’s disappointing all the same.

Calvary have completely disregarded your calls for a reasonable wage rise and have put their profits ahead of looking after you, their workers. They have decided you should bear the burden of the current cost of living crisis, the same way you had to do all the heavy lifting through the COVID-19 pandemic. They now want to lock you into a 3-year deal with a wage increase of only 2.5%a year when the current CPI is 8.6%!

Calvary are looking to increase the hours some workers need to work but are still not addressing your concerns about rosters, workload or short staffing. They’re also removing a key allowance around infection control cleaning.

This for-profit hospital has again decided they’ll prioritise the bottom line instead of investing in their staff. You deserve a show of appreciation for the dedication and hard work that you have put in over the last few years.

We’re meeting with Calvary again this coming Monday 31 October, but we want to hear back from you urgently before we do. So, please email us or give us a call and let us know what you think of their offer.
