We know that a review of the whole HSO structure is desperately needed

Throughout the PSUWA bargain we pressed the Department over their current systems which we believe have some workers misclassified. Because of this misclassification we know that a review of the whole HSO structure is desperately needed.

During the bargain we made the government agree to start this review, and they committed that your profession amongst a handful of others would be prioritised after the award got registered. Your new award has finally been registered by the government, so we’re doubling down on the pressure to prioritise your review.

Now, we want to hear from you. We’re asking members to get involved in one of our multiple working groups across the state about HSO classification. If you’re keen to work closely together with us and your colleagues in a working group, please reach out to us by Friday 26 May.

These working groups will be an important step to make sure that the government hears from you and doesn’t miss out on any of the details about how you do your job.

We’ve already got some significant contributions from some of your co-workers, and this will be our baseline to make sure the Statement of Duties will reflect the crucial role you do – but we still need to hear your voice. We’re also working to make sure that the Health Service Officer stream in the Award is fit for purpose.

If you have any questions, or you’d like to be involved please get in touch with us via HACSUassist by email or on 1300 880 032.
