Meercroft have committed to discuss the issue

We wrote to Wendy recently to ask if there is a more consistent way of notifying workers about when they’ll be required to orientate/buddy a new employee.

We told Wendy that while some workers seem to be informed well in advance when they are orientating new staff, others only find out on the day when they turn up for their shift or through the day sheet in their area.

Wendy said, “We are inducting new staff fortnightly to try and cover shifts so often the roster clerks are notified at the last minute. What they will do is text staff as soon as they become aware of new staff starting. “

Wendy also said she will discuss the issue with roster clerks and raise it at the next roster meeting to see if there is a better way of communicating orientation shifts to staff.

Let’s see if things will improve at Meercroft. If you have any questions about orientation shifts, please contact the roster clerk in the first instance. If you’re not satisfied with the solution, don’t hesitate to contact HACSUassist for further assistance.
