Your CEO wrote back to us about short staffing concerns

We wrote to your CEO about workers’ concerns around client safety at Emily 7 due to short staffing at certain times of the day. Since then, Nigel had said that Multicap are reviewing the SIL rosters and will be back in touch.

We have again followed up with Nigel to see where the review is currently at. Here’s his response:

The property is staffed to the level of funding provided by the NDIA.  There is a plan review in place for a participant that may result in additional hours of support into the roster.

It is important to note that Multicap does not set staffing levels. The staffing levels are established by NDIA planners.

We are currently looking through on how best to manage the situation until such time as we have an outcome from the NDIS plan review.

This work is being undertaken and will be finalised over the next few days.

Hopefully we can get an outcome from the NDIS plan shortly – fingers crossed one of their recommendations will be that more staff are necessary.

In the meantime, if you have more concerns or any other issues at other sites, please feel free to call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 to chat about them.
