You have a right to union representation

We understand that Possability have lost a number of clients and are trying to make changes to your rosters based on this. Some workers have also told us that there’s been instances where Possability haven’t met their contracted hours due to this shortfall of clients.

We’re currently in talks with Possability around getting some further clarification on this issue and to make sure you’re being properly consulted about any roster changes.

If you’re a permanent part time worker Possability are obligated to find you shifts that match your pattern of work – and if they can’t then they need to negotiate with you about what other hours are available.

We’ve also heard from workers that management are trying to stop you from talking to each other during all of this. It’s important you know that it’s your right to contact your union and talk to your colleagues – no matter what Possability may say.

It is not against the code of conduct to seek union representation or talk with your coworkers about your concerns at work – but please make sure you’re protecting residents’ privacy and that you do not pass on resident information to other workers that are not in the resident’s team.

If you’ve been affected by any of these changes then we need you to get in touch with us via HACSUassist on assist@hacsu.org.au or 1300 880 032 so we can help you through it.

We expect to hear more from Possability soon, so make sure you keep an eye out for our updates so you can stay in the loop.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
