A review will be taking place

We wrote to your CEO recently and told him that we’ve been contacted by staff working at Emily 7 with concerns for client safety due to lack of staffing at certain times of the day.

We told Nigel that there are only two support workers on shift at certain times of the day to look after four high-needs clients at the house, two of whom are two-person assist clients. This means when two staff members are working with one of the two-person assist clients, the other three clients are left unsupervised.

Nigel has written back saying that Multicap are currently reviewing the SIL rosters at Emily, and they will need to unpack what is happening there.

Nigel has also said he will be in touch as they work through the issues.

If you have any other concerns while the review is taking place at Emily 7, or any issues at any other sites, please feel free to give us a call on 1300 880032 to have a chat about them.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
