Union win

HACSU members have recently told us they’re worried about the genU computer system which allows access to worker’s private information, such as addresses and rostered hours. Workers let us know that they brought this issue up multiple times to team leaders and management, yet genU still failed to fix it.

Your privacy is important, and this system issue is not good enough. If genU can have confidentiality policies to prohibit you talking about business matters, why is it okay for them to sit on their hands about an issue as important as your privacy?

On Monday we told genU that this has serious consequences for safety and isn’t on – by the next day genU told us they were aware of the issue and said they’d updated their system to fix the problem.

This is the power of being union and speaking up when you know something isn’t right – congratulations!

If you’re still worried about privacy or if genU hasn’t lived up to their promises, then please make sure you get in touch with us via HACSUassist so we can hold them to account.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
