Fit testing P2/N95 masks.

We understand AT intends to have every on-road paramedic fit tested for their P2/N95 mask - Have you had yours?

We believe there’s fit testing this week and next week in the northwest region so ask your DM about doing a test if your last one was more than a year ago. If you aren’t in the northwest, ask your DM about the next chance to be tested.

These tests should be done every 12 months to ensure your allocated mask still fits, because things like weight gain or loss may necessitate a new fit-test.

Some people may not get a proper seal with a disposable mask, but the service must provide an adequate alternative, so if this applies to you, don’t agree to just work with an ill-fitting mask, ask for the alternate style.
