EOI update.

We’ve heard back from AT about the Paramedic Immuniser roles: there are 15 vacancies state wide, 5 in each region.

Here’s more information about the positions and their effect on the workforce:

The positions will be paid against the Paramedic classification with day work rates. By comparison, this is 28%–37.5% less than the Composite/Higher Factor salary. If you are an ICP/ECP/CSO, the salary reduction would be more significant if you take up the Paramedic Immuniser role. We think AT would have a bigger chance of filling these positions if they had offered secondments from the employees’ normal position and paid them at their normal salary/classification.

Your superannuation contributions would also reduce as superannuation is based upon the actual salary you receive, except for those employees in the old preservation scheme. You should seek professional advice about superannuation if you consider taking up one of the positions.

Also, once you accept the position, you won’t be able to work OT in other roles, including your substantive, without specific permission.

We believe vacancies in rosters created by these positions will be covered by short-term fixed contracts or simply be adding more overtime to those base rosters.

We strongly advise you only submit an EOI if you genuinely wish to take up the position.
