We met with Joe Acker and James McManus a month ago, on 29 April, to resolve the travel allowance dispute and an in-principle agreement was reached about how and when TA payments would be made for normal shifts rostered away from your home station and how overtime TA would be paid.

Following the April meeting AT provided HACSU with a paper which essentially, apart from minor amendments, reflected the agreement and your executive endorsed the paper.

It now seems AT is backing away from the agreed outcome - we suspect this isn't because AT disagree but because the continually meddling health bureaucracy does.

So remember, we have the following ban in place while this dispute is alive:

The AESB Executive disputes that members can be rostered away from their home station without specific approval of said member. If there is no specific agreement in place, then members should not accept work at a new location.

If tasked or dispatched away from their normal place of work (within their normal shift), members should expect all travel to and from the other location to occur within their nominal rostered shift without an expectation to work additional hours.

The law is clear, travel for work purposes should happen inside work hours and that travel should be only undertaken in a supplied work vehicle.

We simply do not accept there are currently any ‘clusters’ of urban home stations.
