Waiting for AT wages

We need to hear from you to fix it

Since we sent an email about your unpaid wages some 6 weeks ago (read it here), it appears that AT and the DOH have given this matter zero attention. Their tactic seems to be, don’t answer the emails and the problem goes away.

Here is your entitlement according to your Award: "An employee kept waiting for their wages on a normal pay day for more than a quarter of an hour after the usual time for ceasing work is to be paid at overtime rates after that quarter of an hour, with a minimum of a quarter of an hour. Provided that no penalty for late payment will apply where payment of wages is delayed by reasons beyond the employer’s control."

We’ve requested a meeting with payroll leaders to deal with their error management and the payment of penalties to staff when they are due to be paid. We aren’t looking to blame anyone, but we need the issues that cause non-payments fixed, and we also want staff members to be paid the penalty payments if they don’t receive their entitlements on time.

We intend to raise this as a formal dispute, so we need to know details of how your pay is affected. If you believe you are due for the penalty for late payment of wages, please fill in this survey here to let us know.
