Our health heroes need more zeroes

We met with you late last month to talk about the government’s offer and the message from you was clear: it’s simply not enough.

It’s not enough to fix the chronic retention and attraction issues that leave you working short-staffed and burnt-out.

It’s not enough to meet a cost-of-living crisis where inflation, rent and interest rates are spiralling out of control.

And it’s not enough to recognise the invaluable role you play in providing care to our community.

We did as we said and told the government that the pay, the multi-disciplinary allowance and the 175% shift loading on Sundays (when everyone else gets 200%) need to be fixed – but they still haven’t given us an improved offer.

Now it’s time for us to take action for a better deal.

We’re starting our escalating community campaign next Thursday 31 August by taking photos of you with our selfie sign demanding a better offer. Let’s flood social media and raise awareness about our fight – because we back you and so do the community.

We’ll be at your work soon, so come and get involved and keep an eye out for more updates shortly.
