Overpayment identified due to payroll error.

HACSU was recently contacted by Calvary Health Care to say payroll had identified an overpayment for casual staff within its Tasmanian sites during a routine audit.

The overpayment is related to penalty rate entitlements for casual workers and, in particular, casuals working on a Saturday.

The overpayment occurred due to payroll error in paying the ordinary Saturday penalties at the overtime rate of 50% for the first two hours and 100% thereafter. The correct penalty rate percentage that you should have received is 50% loading for the shift.

We wanted to give you the heads up that Calvary will not be seeking to recover the overpayment funds and are currently working to fix the issue.

Affected staff will start to receive the correct payment from the pay cycle of2-15 August.

Please contact us if you need any further clarification on the overpayment.
