Healthscope might as well have sent the circus in for negotiations yesterday – it might have been more productive. Their team hadn’t even begun work on an offer to put forward to you after getting your feed back on their last one.

When questioned on their wage offer, they seemed to believe it was a genuine offer that you should be happy to accept. With their chief negotiator again meeting with us via Teams from Melbourne, they’re simply out of touch with the current cost of living crisis that you’re experiencing here in Hobart.

Because they were underprepared, they’ve now told us that they’ll have to go away and have a think about your feedback and the hardship you’re enduring to see if they can give up any more of their astronomical profits to help you get by.

We told them that they’d better come back with a real offer quickly so that we can present it to you – because if they can’t do that, we’ll be heading to a protected industrial action ballot.
