Calvary nurses update

We met again with Calvary’s high paid, corporate negotiating team last week to try and get things moving on your agreement – but it feels like we’re just going around in circles.

Despite us telling them again and again about your current cost-of-living pressures, Calvary seem determined to sneak through their paltry wage offer that leaves you left behind.

They’re also completely unwilling to even listen to some of your most important conditions claims, like your workload allowance for working short staffed.

However, there were a few things they did move on that we’re keen to hear more details about, which include:

• A new rule that unpaid meal breaks must be taken before the fifth hour of a shift

• A fourth day of professional development leave per year

We’ll be getting in touch with workers who responded to our survey about action so we can set up workplace meetings with you soon – so please make sure you keep an eye out for updates from us with more information about this shortly.

Let’s continue to stand together and put the pressure on Calvary for a better deal.

If you’ve got questions or you’d like to get involved, please make sure you get in touch with us via HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or via assist@hacsu.org.au
