When we met with you to discuss the offer put forward by Healthscope, it was unanimous that members would not be accepting it. It bordered on an insult with matters in relation to conditions not being addressed and a wage offer that would see worker’s wages go backwards in real terms by a mile.

We wrote off to your employer and told them that you had voted unanimously to reject the offer. We’ve asked for an urgent meeting to give them one more chance to put a genuine offer on the table. We made it clear that if this did not happen, we’d be taking steps to undertake a protected industrial action ballot.

On the spin of a dime, they responded to us and advised they could meet with us today. So, we’ll be back at the bargaining table with your reps, and we’ll update you after the meeting to let you know how it went. Let’s hope they finally listen to you and give you the offer you deserve.
