It's time for Calvary to start taking pay and workload issues seriously

We all know that times are tough for working people with the rising costs of living, unaffordable housing and insecure work. But you might not know that times are also tough apparently for multi-million-dollar private healthcare companies. Or at least, this is what Calvary’s mainland-based corporate negotiators made out to us today in bargaining.

Your bargaining team was shocked that Calvary couldn’t even put a pay offer on the table, although they promised to do so last time we met. Instead, Calvary kept telling their sob story about how their budget is getting tighter and tighter, despite them also telling us that Calvary’s financial performance in 2022 was an improvement on previous years.

To add insult to injury, Calvary has rejected most of your log of claims (things that you want to change or improve in your agreement) and made only minor concessions in a few areas.

We’ll be visiting you in the coming weeks to talk about what steps we can take to get Calvary to take your pay and workload pressures seriously. Let’s show Calvary that we won’t back down.
