Thanks to all the theatre nurses who caught up with us recently to talk about Healthscope’s attempt to gut 10-hour shift pay arrangements.

Because you spoke up, we were clear with Healthscope that their interpretation of the Agreement is wrong and that their decision must be reversed.

Healthscope have since written back, and while they haven’t confirmed whether they’ll still try to go ahead with their changes to your pay, they have said they’ll pay you as normal while we wait for them to get back to us with a response over the next few weeks.

Now, we need to keep the pressure on to make sure that they don’t go through with their proposed cuts.

HACSU is the fighting union, and we’ll never tolerate employers bending the rules to try and shortchange you on your pay. Congratulations on speaking up and making your voice heard – let’s keep up the fight!
