Here's what they've told us so far

After a lengthy delay on the employer’s side, we finally met with I-MED last week to get talks going on your agreement again. While the discussions were generally productive, I-MED didn’t give us a straight answer on the wage offer and a bunch of conditions that we feel strongly about.

We did however, get the following from them:

• I-MED have indicated that they are willing to move on expanding your current parental leave entitlement

• I-MED is considering our claim for a well-being day that would take the form of a mutually agreed RDO

• I-MED will develop a draft clause for a 10-hour break between shifts on weekends and public holidays

• I-MED is considering a clause that would allow employees to take 12 months of unpaid leave for the purpose of affirming their gender

We also told I-MED in no uncertain terms that we reject their proposed reductions to your current redundancy entitlement and the changes they want to make to emergency shift call-ins. We're not budging on this unless they can produce draft wordings of these clauses that won't put you at a disadvantage.

We’ll be out and about over the coming weeks to keep you up to date with agreement talks. If you want to get in touch with us before then, please email assist@hacsu.org.au or call 1300 880 032.
