I-MED say one thing

But they do another

There's been a bit of argy-bargy going on behind the scenes with I-MED saying that staff are volunteering to take leave while we say staff are being told to take leave. They want us to withdraw our allegations, and we want them to respond properly.

But the main things to know are this:

  • I-MED denies they’ve attempted to intimidate staff. They say, “at no point has I-MED directed employees to take leave”. But they also say, “where employees have raised concerns about being on leave without pay (as has been the case in some limited circumstances), they have been reinstated”. Doesn’t it sound a little contradictory?
  • I-MED still refuse to answer what cost-cutting management or executive levels have undertaken to help lighten the load. We’ll leave it up to you to guess what that might mean.
  • I-MED haven’t agreed to any of our alternative proposals to address issues like this, but they haven’t come forward with any of their own either. We'll keep trying to make them see reason.

So there you have it. Apparently no one is being told to take leave despite the evidence to the contrary. However, based on recent communications, we think there’s a decent chance I-MED might back off now staff are starting to stand up for their rights.

If you find yourself being volunteered to take leave, let us know ASAP.
