Members vote up their new agreement

The vote on the government’s offer for your new agreement closed at 8am this morning. The results are in, and out of 209 total responses, 196 voted yes and 13 voted no.

Therefore, you new agreement has been voted up, and all industrial action will now cease.

It has been an absolute marathon to get the agreement to this point and you know better than anyone how important this will be for you and your colleagues.

There are a number of key issues that the agreement deals with that your Ambulance Sub-branch Executive will start working on right away, including meal breaks and fatigue management.

Again, we want to thank your Sub-branch Executive for the hard work they have put into ensuring that we got an agreement that tackles some of the big issues like meal breaks, fatigue management, ramping, end of shift dispatch and more.

Industrial action update

Because the agreement has been accepted, the Executive has resolved that all industrial action now ceases – which also includes wearing campaign t-shirts as a form of industrial action.

You know all too well that there’s still a lot of work to be done to address the key issues across AT. We will work hard to ensure that issues of ramping, resourcing and safety are addressed.

Your Executive has said that if the government delays implementing any of the new initiatives, they would never rule out discussing taking further action with you.

Make sure you keep an eye on your email for more updates getting your agreement registered with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission and when the new conditions will kick into effect. We’ll also let you know if there are any issues that come out of the agreement that we need to work on.
