We need to hear from you

HACSU members campaigned for years to get the 12-hour shift arrangement that you currently work under, because we know the 2 days on, 2 days off pattern gives you more time to destress and recover from work.

At a recent negotiation meeting with the Department, we told them we’re concerned that they still haven’t secured these shifts into an enforceable agreement the same way they have for care staff.

Now, we’re pushing to secure these shifts in an agreement – because in future new management shouldn’t be able to just scrap a system that you enjoy working under.

We’ll be having meetings with the government soon, and we’ll again press just how important these 12-hour shifts are – as well as make sure your feedback is heard and improvements to your award are properly captured in any agreement.

As things progress, we’ll be getting out to chat with you more so please make sure you keep an eye out for updates soon about when we’ll be visiting.
