We need to hear from you

As part of PSUWA negotiations last year, we finally got the government to look at the Health Service Officer (HSO) classification structure in your award.

We’ve been talking to a bunch of HSOs, but we need to make sure that everyone has a voice in this process – because it’s moving quickly, and we want to make sure your classification issues get fixed, once and for all.

The fact is that your roles have changed over the years, and you’re being asked to do more and more. Right now, your current statement of duties doesn’t always reflect your workload.

It’s more than time you were acknowledged for the extra work that you do – and paid like it too.

For some of you, the earning projections over your career are not as good as they could be either, and that’s not fair when you’re the ones who often pick up the slack to run our services.

We need you to get involved and have your say to change this.

We’ll be out in workplaces over the next week to talk with you more about our review, and we’ll be running further working group meetings so we can make sure your SoDs are reflecting the work that you do. If you’d like to be involved, please talk to your organiser or get in touch.

We’ll also be holding a HSO delegates meetings statewide in the following weeks to start on our proposal to the government – and we’ll circulate our draft to you once we’ve got it.

What’s important is that you take this opportunity to have your say – because the more of us that work together, the better results we’ll get.
