Workers at the NWRH to cease industrial action

Management at the NWRH have been forced fix unsafe floors after workers’ industrial action. But, you refused to hear the same old story unless the Department had solid plans and got back to us with a date – now we’ve got good news.

In less than 24 hours, management came back to us with their tail between their legs and confirmed in writing that the red floor will begin being laid on Thursday 27 July.

This is a massive win to make sure that management are accountable – not just for the promises they make, but for your safety. This is because you refused to back down.

The success of our action means that effective from 7am this morning, Wednesday 19 July, all industrial action will now cease as workers’ demands have been met.

Congratulations to all our delegates and members who made this happen – you should be very proud of the fact that you stuck together and won. Wins like these are why it’s so important to be union and make sure your voice is heard at work.

We’ll still be keeping a close eye on management to make sure the planned construction goes smoothly, and that you’re inconvenienced as little as possible, so please make sure you get in touch with us via HACSUassist if you need more information or run into any other trouble with the floors.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
