Here's what we got him to commit to

On his very first day stepping into the role of State Secretary, Robbie Moore met with the equally fresh Health Minister, Guy Barnett.

It was a great chance for us to begin a dialogue about the ongoing challenges faced by health workers and our community’s health services.

Our discussion encompassed a spectrum of crucial topics, including the persistent access and flow block issues in our hospitals, ambulance ramping, issues faced by allied health professionals, primary health and what needs to be done to keep Tasmanians away from acute health settings.

The Minister committed to being more directly engaged and has agreed to meet with all of our various sub-branches to ensure that he hears firsthand from the frontline about the issues that impact you directly.

We raised our pressing concerns about the uncertainty that workers continue to face regarding the COVID-funded positions at the LGH. We hope we do not have to campaign on that issue again.

We look forward to working closely with the Health Minister, and we’re ever hopeful that real and lasting change can be delivered because as you know better than most, we desperately need it.
