It's time to value radiation therapists

Radiation therapists have met and said enough is enough – now is the time to take action to ensure you get a real pay rise and secure your payments that are already overdue.

We expect a genuine offer from the government that addresses the serious recruitment and retention issues which are affecting services to patients and causing chronic shortages of RTs.

HACSU have written to the Head of the State Service requesting an urgent meeting to ensure that we can reach an agreement on how RTs will receive the pay rise and payments you are owed. As a sign of good faith we have given the government until 12pm on Tuesday 14 February to resolve this matter.

If the government does not agree to meet our deadline, the following industrial action will occur:

1. A ban on processing of patient bills or accounts

2. Union members will work strictly to rule

3. Stop work action across the state

4. Chalk writing will commence in the north and south and continue for members in the north west

5. Union members will keep wearing and distributing campaign materials

We will also be joining other AHPs in stop work meetings from the following week. Your delegates and HACSU organiser will be talking to you over the coming days to prepare for this action.

Remember, the government can choose to stop this by ensuring you get what you are entitled to.

If you have any further questions or would like more information, make sure you have a chat with your delegate or call HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
