We'll have no choice but to ramp things up

HACSU members in Food Services at the LGH have endorsed bringing in workplace bans and industrial action next week if management won’t respect everyone’s rostered hours of work.

We met with management yesterday to see where they had managed to get to with their review of the LGH Food Services roster and they’ve committed to give us a comprehensive reply by tomorrow (Friday 24 March).

We would expect that they’ll have to agree to our claim for HACSU members who have worked regular and ongoing additional hours to have those hours offered to them on a permanent basis.

Anything else would be unfair.

We’ve made it more than clear that it was unacceptable for management to disregard those regular hours in the first place when they’d initially proposed their roster changes.

If management don’t agree to increases to permanent part time workers’ contracted hours, or if they put forward a proposal that would favour some but leave others behind, we will stick together and take action to demand better.

Keep an eye out for more information, but in the meantime if you have any questions or concerns please get in touch through HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
