Here's what we know so far:

On Monday, workers and community members from St Marys reached out to us with concerns after the announcement of Dr Latt’s resignation.

We were just as blindsided by this resignation as you were, and after learning of the news we sought an urgent meeting with hospital management to make sure you’re listened to.

Many of you told us you’d heard rumours that the hospital might close without a GP, and we met with management late yesterday to get this cleared up once and for all.

At our meeting, THS management reassured us that they have no intention to close the hospital, and that they’re working hard to replace Dr Latt before he leaves in mid-November.

While this is happening, we’ll continue to work with you to make sure that your voice is heard and your questions get answered – because we know how vital the St Marys hospital is to all of the workers and residents in the area.

We’ll be coming to visit you over the next couple of weeks to chat to you more, so please make sure you keep an eye out soon for an email with further dates and times.

In the meantime, if you have questions or need more information, you can get in touch with us via HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
