We're finally getting bargaining underway

We met with Calvary Aged Care for the first time today to begin negotiating your workplace agreement. We presented your log of claims – things that you want to add or improve in your agreement – to management at the meeting and talked about the next steps moving forward.

I made it clear to Calvary that a decent wage increase, backpay, and improved workload are at the top of the list of things the agreement needs to address.

We expect Calvary to respond to your claims before the next meeting and hand us their proposal, so we’ll finally be able to make some progress with bargaining. The next meeting is scheduled for 14 April.

As you know, we’ve been fighting for some time to get them to the bargaining table, and we won’t stop until we can get improvements in your pay and working conditions.

There is power in numbers when we bargain for a better agreement for all workers. If you know someone who is not a HACSU member yet, please encourage them to join the union for aged care workers, you can contact us on 1300 880 032 for more information.

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
