UAW’s out-of-touch, mainland management are trying to test you once again by setting up a ballot on yet another unfair agreement. We know workers are tired of their confusing voting tactics, but it’s important that we vote again and vote NO to this agreement.

Don’t be fooled – the agreement they’re now trying to sneak past workers is even worse than the ones they recently put out to ballot before it. It still cuts paid meal breaks, and now they won’t even commit to the mandated Aged Care Work Value Case 15% pay rise for direct care workers.

And let’s be clear: you’re a lot better off voting NO to this new agreement. If you vote NO, you’ll stay on your current agreement which means you’ll keep paid meal breaks (if you already have them) and be able to receive the 15% increase that was awarded to direct care workers – while we all keep fighting for fair pay rises and improvements for everyone.

We know how hard you work, and we think it’s about time you were recognised for it instead of being bullied into accepting less.

The access period for this latest vote started today and voting will be open from next Wednesday 22 March until Wednesday 29 March.

The good news is that you stood up and overwhelmingly voted for action last week, so now we can start to organise workplace bans. While the ballot is open for voting we will be starting out with low level actions like wearing campaign badges, so make sure you keep an eye out in the coming days for more information from us about this action as well as any further news.

We’ve also heard reports of management trying to take down the names of people involved in action – but you are not obliged to sign anything that goes to management noting down your name as involved in any industrial action. Management also cannot discriminate against you.
