Here's what you need to know

In late August, Calvary sent out this message to workers at Riverside Views:

“Medical certificates from an online service will not be accepted at Riverside Views. Medical certificates from a local GP and local designated pharmacies will only be accepted.”

When members brought this to our attention, we lodged a dispute in the Fair Work Commission and firmly advocated for Calvary to reconsider their stance and acknowledge the right of employees to obtain medical certificates from a healthcare provider of their choice.

Because members have stood up and taken action, Calvary have backed down and decided to withdraw their previous statement.

With bargaining coming to a head and Calvary still seeking to cut your key conditions and wages, it’s important that our members stand ready to unite and take action when necessary.

If you’ve had a medical certificate rejected by Calvary, we want to hear from you. Please contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or by email at assist@hacsu.org.au
