Great news for many aged care workers: the Federal Government have made good on their promise to fund the HACSU aged care Work Value Case interim wage increases!

Next week’s Federal Budget will include $11 billion for higher aged care wages for 250,000 workers.

Congratulations to all aged care workers who’ve been part of making this happen. We won the 15% interim increase because aged care workers shared your stories. Your stories convinced the Government to promise funding for pay rises, and now the money is locked in for many workers.

This is a huge win! But there’s more work to do.

While we’re celebrating a pay rise for many aged care workers, we won’t stop fighting for more – for everyone who works in aged care. HACSU started our Work Value Case for a 25% pay rise in aged care because all aged care workers have been undervalued for too long.

Every job is important. So every aged care worker deserves a pay rise.

That’s why we’ve argued that the 15% increase for just some workers just isn’t enough – but we need you to get involved, too.

In our Work Value Case, it’s stories like yours that make the difference.

You can join our campaign for a 25% pay rise for all by telling your story and making a witness statement in the HACSU Work Value Case.

We’ll support anyone who wants to get involved, so please get in touch and let us know if you want to share your experience and be part of making change in aged care.
