We can't let them wear us down, vote NO

Uniting AgeWell’s mainland management announced a vote on their terrible agreement last night. Their proposal slashes your working conditions, cuts take-home pay and could put residents at risk by leaving fewer workers on the floor.

We are strongly urging everyone to vote NO.

No doubt they’re trying to cause confusion around our planned protected industrial action ballot and undermine your legal right to vote on taking action. This kind of underhandedness is not on and we will be asking the Fair Work Commission to intervene.

Tactics like this are all a game for UAW’s mainland management. But your pay and conditions are very real. We know this agreement could set many workers up to lose hundreds of dollars, and all for just a 1.5% pay increase. It’s nowhere near enough to keep up with the increases to cost of living when the price of everything is going through the roof.

We can’t let them get away with this.

We must all vote, and vote NO, just like we’ve done three times before. We know we can beat them, so let’s do it again.

HACSU organisers will be visiting UAW facilities to talk more about this, but everyone will need to talk to each other at work to ensure that everyone stands up and votes NO to this agreement.

As we understand it UAW’s vote opens on Tuesday 28 February and closes on Tuesday 7 March.

We’ll keep you in the loop about any updates on this, so keep an eye out for more information.
