This can no longer be ignored

Whilst SCC management may have been home enjoying Valentine’s Day with their loved ones, care and nurse staff at Glenara Lakes were in deep water working extremely short-staffed.

There were supposed to be 10 care staff and 4 nurses on night shift, but only 4 carers and 3 nurses were there last night.

On day shift today Glenara Lakes is 5 ECAs short again, with already 3 ECAs short for the afternoon shift.

We've sent an email asking for an urgent meeting with SCC management to rectify the situation immediately.

SCC have an obligation to provide quality care to their residents and provide a safe working environment for workers, but clearly since accreditation has left the building, this is not happening.

You must feel sick of coming to work and being continually short-staffed. This can no longer be ignored, as residents and staff are both being put at risk by the management and the Board of Southern Cross Care.

There is power in unity when we fight for the safety of everyone in your workplace. If you know someone who is not a HACSU member yet, please encourage them to join. You can download a membership form online and email it back to assist@hacsu.org.au or contact us on 1300 880 032.
