You may have seen us at your worksites in recent weeks asking you to sign a petition that states you wish to commence bargaining with your employer.

Because the signatures we’ve gathered demonstrate that most staff want to bargain, we attended the Fair Work Commission this morning to seek a majority support determination.

The Commission is completing a final check – if a majority of employees have signed the petition, the Commission will make the majority support determination. That means HACSU can force your employer to start bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement.

The Commission is due to report back in approximately a fortnight, confirming whether the order has been made.
