Your Regis bargaining update

We met with the Regis bargaining team today and they claimed they’ve listened to your concerns about their attempts to cut your afternoon and night shift penalty rates. They indicated that they’re thinking of changing their position, but they haven’t committed to anything yet.

Regis also said they need a few more weeks to decide on how they are going to implement the 15% pay rise for direct care workers by 1 July this year. We want to make sure you get the full 15% if you’re eligible, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on Regis to ensure they don’t try to pocket any of the funding meant for you.

I told Regis they need to seriously consider becoming an employer of choice rather than an employer of revolving doors. We’ve all tired of seeing workers start their employment at Regis and then choosing not to stay because of the substandard working conditions. Regis seemed to agree, but we’ll have to wait and see if their actions match their words.

We have another meeting scheduled for 13 April and we’ll keep you updated. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
