Management commit to fix the issue

Recently we’ve been in touch with SCC’s Chief People Officer to question him about reports of more short staffing at Glenara Lakes.

In his response he updated us about SCC’s plan to combat the issue and said thankyou to the workers who chased this up because he knows it impacts you and your residents.

He also said he’d followed up with the Glenara site manager about these shortfalls and assured us that steps are being taken to fix this ongoing problem.

According to him, SCC have onboarded more workers to start this Monday in the Dementia Unit, and they expect further staff to start next week. He also said that interviews are scheduled for this week to recruit more workers for the casual pool.

SCC say that these measures will help fill staffing gaps and ensure adequate coverage for residents – but actions speak louder than words.

We also got him to commit to follow up with us in two weeks and give further updates about the staffing situation.

While it’s a great win for workers if this pans out, it’s important that we still hear from you about staffing levels so we can hold SCC to account.
