Here's how it went

On Tuesday we held our first bargaining meeting with genU and your bargaining reps from across the state.

We tabled your log of claims, or wish list, at the meeting and put forward your ideas about what you’d like to see in the new agreement.

genU also put forward their log of claims, which you can read here.

At the moment, there’s two former agreements at play with the mergers of Anglicare and Li-Ve – it’s our position that any new agreement should include the best of both of these.

At the meeting, genU also told us that they’re concerned about the NDIS pricing review as well as how the NDIS Royal Commission will affect service delivery. That may well be the case, but it doesn’t mean that you’re any less deserving of a pay rise or better working conditions.

genU committed to go away and start looking at the Li-Ve agreement, and their agreements in Victoria and get back to us at our next meeting.

Bargaining meetings are scheduled fortnightly, so we’ll make sure we keep you updated as things progress.
