Li-Ve Tasmania have announced today that they are commencing a formal process to explore uniting their operations with genU, a Geelong-based national disability and aged care organisation. We’ve asked Li-Ve to commit that staff will not be disadvantaged if the merger were to go ahead.
Current Li-Ve management have said that disability support staff will not be adversely affected. HACSU will continue to have conversations and meetings with Li-Ve management to make sure that your job security and conditions are protected.
We have already talked with the HACSU Victorian branch, who cover disability workers in Victoria. We’ll be working closely with them to ensure the best interest of all HACSU members both in Tasmania and Victoria.
We are currently seeking a meeting with both Li-Ve and genU to discuss this situation, and we will update you as soon as this happens. In the meanwhile, if you have questions, please contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032.
