We're advising members not to sign anything

In recent weeks, we’ve been in contact with St Michaels due to a large underpayment, which affects what we believe to be a majority of HACSU members.

St Michaels have remained tight lipped about how they’ve calculated the underpayment and we are pretty well certain that they’ve incorrectly calculated the broken shift allowance.

Right now, your employer is asking you to sign away your right to challenge the underpayment or to see their calculations.

Our advice remains not to sign their release.

We advise all members who have been affected by this underpayment to write to their manager with the following statement:

‘I write regarding a recent underpayment which St Michaels have notified me of. I am writing to request a full transcript of the calculations prior to signing the payment summary’.

Once you have received those calculations, please email them to assist@hacsu.org.au so we can make sure you’ll be correctly paid.

The more members we have, the stronger we are, the better the outcome. If you know a colleague who has not yet joined HACSU, let them know that becoming a member is now as simple as a few clicks: join.hacsu.org.au

For more information about this or any other industrial matter, members should contact HACSUassist on 1300 880 032 or email assist@hacsu.org.au or complete our online contact form
