Possability have told us that they are planning to replace Service Supervisor roles for short term accommodation with new roles called Enhanced Practice Leaders – Short Term Accommodation, which would be classified under the Oak Tasmania agreement at Level 4.
It seems Possability have cottoned on to what we already know – that supervision is not regularly conducted and there isn’t adequate support, coaching or mentoring for workers to develop their disability service practice. Possability have admitted that only 10% of frontline supervisors’ time is engaged in actual supervision and leadership.
They claim the new positions will better promote supervising, monitoring and facilitating best practice service rather than just being tied up in administrative tasks.
Possability are saying that all current workers affected by the change will be offered positions as Enhanced Practice Leaders – Short Term Accommodation.
They’ve asked for HACSU’s feedback, so we need to hear from you! Please let us know if you think the changes will impact on you or if you have questions or concerns about them.
