Here's how our first meeting went

We had our first meeting for your new agreement last Monday with Multicap management and your HACSU bargaining reps.

At the meeting we tabled your log of claims, or your wish list.

Unfortunately, Multicap didn’t have their counter claims ready, but they committed to come back with them at our next fortnightly meeting.

We told Multicap that your log of claims is important, because you need to see improvements around personal and sick leave, long service leave, sleepover payments (and making sure they’re paid on annual leave) and better pay.

Right now, you’re still covered by the Disability Services Multiemployer Agreement that nominally expired some 9 years ago – but this means we’ve got a lot of work to do to make sure that any new agreement is updated and improved with the wins we’ve gotten in the Fair Work Act and the Award since.

We’ll keep you updated on how things go, but we’re keen to get some answers and hear Multicap’s proposal when we meet again on Monday 30 October.

In the meantime, if you’ve got questions or you’d like to get involved make sure you get in touch with us so we can point you in the right direction.

The more members we have the more power we’ve got during bargaining, so if you know a colleague who’s not yet HACSU make sure you let them know it pays to be union. Joining is now as simple as clicking this link: https://join.hacsu.org.au/
