We wrote to your People and Culture Manager Jon Bishton recently to tell him that workers are frustrated about their pay and payslips often being incorrect.

While workers understand that mistakes can happen occasionally because those doing pays are only human, the problem is it’s happening way too often. Workers are sick of having to contact the pay office to chase up money owed or discuss errors on their payslips.

Jon has since responded:

“As a business we encourage any employee who had discrepancies in their pay to inform our payroll department, furthermore if an employee is having difficulties understanding their payslip our payroll team is more than happy to assist them.

The business can confirm that if at any time there is found to be any underpayment due to system error, this is rectified on the day or within 24 hours. We will always commit to ensuring that any error is rectified as soon as practicable when the employee notifies the business of any error with their pay.

What the business cannot control is if employees fail to clock in and out of their shifts or provide shift notes on the shift, this unfortunately will create discrepancies and delays as our payroll system will not pick up if they have worked the shift in question.

The payroll department will always ensure that these are rectified as soon as the business is made aware of any discrepancies.”

While Jon said that the payroll department is committed to rectifying errors as soon as possible when they are reported, they still haven’t explained why these errors occur so frequently and what Tassiecare intend to do to avoid them.
